Wonderful place to stay. My husband and I and our little Shitz u stayed before the horrible storm. I used to live on second st years before. Being an artist, I used to do pet portraits there and I truly enjoyed the wonderful people and closeness. We will be back and our prayers are with you everyday for a full recovery. God bless you all.

We had a wonderful time here. We rented number eight which was absolutely adorable and cleaner than any room we've ever rented. It was just a beautiful little room. The shower was bigger than mine at home. lol We took full advantage of outside. There was a swing directly across from our room which we used more than once and in the evenings we were going out to the swings facing the water. Had a fantastic last evening out there. We found a live turtle among all the statuary and he turned out to be friendly. We love real turtles. Then we found the marker for their mascot kitty, Turtle. We thought that was terribly sweet. We met their new kitty but she was not impressed by us. lol. It was a great experience between Faraway Inn and Cedar Key itself. We're already going to go home and figure out best dates and put in a reservation for here again in the coming year. We also rented a golf cart from them and boy we saw every bit of the island on it. That was so much fun. We didn't kayak. We brought our life vest and our own paddles but discovered the water was a bit too choppy for us. We really wanted to kayak over to the island directly across from the Inn but we decided better safe than sorry. We're not that young anymore. Oh, and my husband will be very upset if I do not mention the hundreds of butterflies around our room. He was completely fascinated by all the butterflies. Thank you, Faraway Inn.

I remember staying here years ago when I visited from my hometown in Kentucky back in 2011. It was such a friendly and cozy inn and town, and it broke my heart to hear about the recent damage to the place. I hope there is some way for this place to rise again, because it was truly a hidden gem. Just wanted to let everyone know my thoughts are with you and everyone in Cedar Key, because I had such a wonderful experience there, and I still remember it fondly over a decade later.

WOW!! We stayed here a few years back with the family and had a wonderful experience at Faraway Inn, Heart Breaking what happened to this resort and the entire town, witnessed some footage of another post on here we hope they can rebuild, but after 2 devastating hurricanes hit here recently it’s hard to imagine they could. Prayers go out to Faraway Inn owners that they can rebuild!

This is a perfect place for little getaway. Aimee is great. The rooms are great. The view is great. This place and most of the places in Cedar Key are dog friendly which makes it the perfect getaway for us. Nice vibe on this little island plus it’s only like an hour away. The food in CK is pretty awful but I can sacrifice that for all the positives. Aimee we will be back.

Found this little place online. Seems you can only book it through its website. Love that it was right on the water, our room facing the gulf. Air conditioning worked well, shower was clean, beds were comfortable. So easy to keep in touch with Aimee anytime we had a question. Prices were fair, bikes and kayaks were available and free. It was fun to tour the town with their golf carts. Quiet location. We had a great time and would love to return!
